Walk on the Canal

We took a stroll down the C & O Canal on Saturday, minus one child.  (She has a broken toe/broken toes and is wearing a boot that she didn't want to get dirty! Someone please tell me how to wrap my children in bubble wrap to avoid all these injuries?).

I'm so glad we got outside to soak in the sunshine this weekend before all this cold, rainy weather rolled in!  It was a very relaxing walk...except for the part when I stepped on a baby snake!

Lock House #28

Check out this creepazoid millipede!

After our walk we rewarded ourselves with ice cream from the new creamery in town.  It was so good!  I wasn't able to get a clear shot of this next picture because we were driving down the road.  This is through my windshield and the dog was turning his head constantly.

If you can't see- he has goggles on.  Only in the country...

  1. *sigh* I love your photography soooo much! Someone needs to pay you very well for that.

Speaking of bubble wrapping kids...you should see what I came home to after convention. The kids were walking my mom's dogs (and she lives on a very steep hill) and the boy insisted on riding his rip stik. Yes down the hill and yes we covered the applicable principles in science but alas... He realized he was gaining speed and was rapidly approaching a busy street so he bailed off the rip stik. He now has dermabond above his eye and the entire left side of his face is one big bruise. How he managd to not have facial fractures is nothing but God.

  2. Oh my! I'm so glad he wasn't hurt worse- like you said. What is it with boys...they think *after* the fact? Ha! Your poor mom had to deal with this?
